Make America Learn History Again: Somerset and The Colonies
It’s real history as told by the all American man in my inbox and me.
This episode features sensitive content on slavery. Reader discretion advised.
I’m celebrating the 4th by diving into America’s Revolutionary War history with men who love America. Please note that by no means do I seek to diminish Britain’s role in the slave trade. There is simply too much to cover and it’s that special time of the year for America. For that reason I’ll focus mainly on slavery in regards to colonial America.
James Somerset was an enslaved African. A victim of the slave trade, he was purchased by Charles Stewart in Boston. He was brought to England where he eventually met abolitionists and ran away. From here, I’ll let Danny tell the story.
Join me this week as I tell more men about America’s Revolutionary War history. Especially, its frequently mistold history.
